If you blinked, you just might have missed it: News of Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers' engagement broke last Thursday, September 6 and the couple is already married! They tied the knot on Saturday morning in a small ceremony in Malibu, California.

This quick turnaround also called for quickly finding a wedding dress. The actress enlisted the help of designer Mark Zunino to get the job done. “With a 24-hour turnaround there wasn't a moment to spare,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Denise's calm personality gives a wonderful vibe of confidence, which immediately rubbed off on my team. They would do anything for a client they love and respect.”

Most wedding dresses to take months to order and make, so Zunino and his team had their work cut out for them. “When I met with Denise and Aaron, she had several images of my gowns of interest but had one specifically in mind,” he said. “It was a romper (a true romper, a.k.a. shorts, not a minidress) of an Italian laser-cut 3D floral pattern on silk illusion, over nude with hand beadwork. The problem was it takes three to four weeks to get that fabric from Europe, and, at minimum, one week of labor with three seamstresses working around the clock."

Lucky for Richards, Zunino had an idea to get this bride the wedding dress of her dreams. "I mentioned to Denise the possibility of having her try on my archived original runway sample," Zunino said. "It was brand new, having only been worn five minutes during its catwalk debut, but was in a customized model size that was extremely small. We slipped it on Denise. Aaron's eyes lit up. Denise had an enormous smile, and said, 'This is it!' ”

The runway sample was a perfect fit, but the designer upgraded the look for the celebrity wedding. “Denise is so incredibly beautiful, simplicity is best for her,” he said. “We decided to add some silk floral scattering on the layered silk organza overskirt. I hand painted faint white flowers, intermingled with the silk flowers, to achieve a delicate, romantic look. Denise and Aaron are both so extremely relaxed, easy going and genuinely sweet. The relaxed aesthetic of the romper with detachable over-skirt was the perfect look of sexy sophistication, playful and ultimately romantic.”

Richards' romper wedding day look was met with mixed feelings, but Zunino took to Instagram to share a quick reminder: Your opinion doesn't matter. “I don't think we've ever had a wedding dress create more split opinions than the dress we just did for Denise Richards!” He said sharing a photo of the bride with her bouquet. “Here's our thought: we work for the bride/client. As long as they're in love with the design, we feel we've done our job. Unless you've paid for it or are the one wearing it you don't have to worry about it! We are thrilled that Denise felt beautiful on her special day and love how the dress 100% fit her personality and the setting. We look forward to working with any of you and creating the dress of your dreams no matter what anyone else thinks! XOXO”

Mic. Drop.

Despite all the commotion surrounding the whirlwind weekend for the couple, Zunino can confirm the wedding went off without a hitch. “The wedding looked magical!” he told the entertainment site. “When people are so sweet, so in love, so truly happy, nothing but joy is felt from all around.”

Richards and Phypers are joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the ninth season, and parts of their wedding will be in the show. “I am so happy to officially be married to the love of my life,” Richards told Bravo's The Daily Dish. “I can't wait for everyone to go on this incredible journey with me this season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It has been a wild ride so far!”
