From the moment you get engaged, you'll probably want to shout it from the rooftops! You're going to marry the love of your life, you get to celebrate and share the good news with family and friends, AND you have a brand new engagement ring on your left hand. So, er, do you post a ring selfie on social media?

Some may prefer to keep it private and only show their new bling off in person, while other newly engaged brides-to-be opt to share their sparkling engagement ring with the world. Not sure which category you fall into? Here's what some real brides decided to do, after they said, "Yes!"

"I did not post a ring pic on social media. I felt posting a photo with my fiancГ© was more special. To me it was about promising to spend the rest of your lives together and the ring is a just a beautiful reminder of that." -Nichole, July 2014 wedding

"Yup! I did. We were drunk and at the Rangers game and I waited 10 years for this day. The whole world had to know!" -Stacy, March 2016 wedding

"I didn't, but my friends did post for me so I didn't have to. But had they not, I still would never have posted a selfie." -Dana, September 2013 wedding

"I did not post a ring pic. I thought it was a bit ostentatious. I don't judge others for doing so (I feel like most people do) but I'm just not into it." -Kristen, September 2015 wedding

"I posted a pic posing with my ring because I got engaged in Spain and it was my way to tell my friends and family from overseas." -Christina, August 2014

"Nope - I felt like it was a personal thing to be shared between my fiancГ© and I and also my closest family and friends. All my closest friends and family got actual ring pictures (if they asked!) via text message, but I didn't feel the need to flaunt it on social media for the world to see, dissect, and judge. The world of social media can be harsh." -Tiffany, April 2018 wedding

"I didn't post a picture on social media after I got engaged because it was actually before I had an Instagram or any social media account. I probably would have though just because it's nice to share that with everyone, and I think we all know that people always wonder what the ring looks like - and it's an excuse to show it off." -Diandra, July 2013 wedding

"I decided not to post a ring picture after getting engaged. I love my ring, but I just felt like that wasn't the important part of us getting engaged. The pictures that we posted online were to announce our engagement to our friends, and we both felt like our happiness was what we wanted them to see. The ring has always felt like something extra, a reminder of how happy I am to be engaged, so I felt like it was a little personal and decided not to put it on social media." -Merry, December 2018 wedding
