Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk's secret to making a marriage work? Personal space.

The actress recently revealed that she and Falchuk only live together four nights a week, and he spends the other three nights at his own house, People reports.

“Oh, all my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn't change a thing,” the GOOP founder said in a new interview with The Sunday Times, per People. She adds that the situation is approved by their intimacy coach, who believes that this type of living arrangement gives their marriage “polarity.”

The couple wed in the Hamptons last summer, and Paltrow revealed in December that they were taking their time moving in together. "We are still doing it in our own way," she told WSJ Magazine at the time. "With teenage kids, you've got to tread lightly. It's pretty intense, the teenage thing." She has two children with former husband Chris Martin, and Falchuck has two of his own from a previous marriage. Paltrow admitted in the same interview that she's "never been a stepmother before" and said, "I don't know how to do it," but a source said at the time that the couple had "blended their families in such a great way" and that "the kids are really liking each other."

Though Falchuck and Paltrow's living situation may be unorthodox, it should hardly come as a surprise, considering the actress's propensity for doing things her own way when it comes to relationships. She and Martin famously "consciously uncoupled" in 2014, and he is still a very big part of her life-he's been known to take over a room in GP's house when she's out of town to spend time with the kids, and even attended her honeymoon with Falchuk along with the rest of the family. “Chris is family and Brad and he, they're like, totally friends,” Paltrow told the Times. Clearly, this is one big, happy family, no matter who's living where.
